He absolutely sold a playoff series because he was in his feelings. Welcoming Kyrie back is like letting your ex that beats you back into the house. They can sound as sincere as a priest, but they gonna do that shit again.
If we traded for him for whatever reason or signed him for cheap, he won’t be in a role where he’d be able to mess up a playoff series. He’d be part of the supporting cast and would have a short leash.
Welcome him. If he forces a trade that likely means we don’t give up too much for him especially with how old he is. I’d love to see it. He’s past his total prime and knows it, would likely be happy just to form a formidable backcourt with Pritchard and DWhite. Kai would love Pritchard.
Someone’s gotta say it: Kyrie messed up his exit, but the Celtics messed up his welcome. He was forced to compete for shots with Scary Terry and Marcus Smart because coach didn’t want to have a clear hierarchy. Several other players were also disgruntled because of the GH/Morris/JB/Smart “fights”. In the end Kyrie checked out and behaved like an ass. Would have been different if Danny shipped Rozier out of town when he was at his peak and coach would have shortened Smart’s leash. Ah well….

Wasn’t the first time and wasn’t the last time. He lit a match in Cleveland and then walked out the door. Then did the same thing to us. Then did the same thing in Brooklyn. He has a track record. There’s a good chance that Brad and Danny had a plan, and he wasn’t on board.
Sure. But he was brought to content. Then GH got injured but JT and Kb stepped up. But Brad kept running a development program instead of locking in. Kyrie’s ultimately responsible for his own behavior, but BS didn’t make the most of the opportunity.
