I preferred Brown over him, it feels like overpaying Phoenix for him is more expensive than his real value. Inefficient, mediocre defender, and on a supermax.

Booker and Brown are on almost identical contracts, and they’re about 6 days apart in age. They score a similar number of points on a similar efficiency, and their TOV% is also very similar.

no, that is just a similar player to JB but a worse defender. You run into the same kind of problems with on court fit. Save your bullets to go all in on Jokic and Doncic. if you miss on those guys, a deep roster is better than a top heavy one. Only go top heavy if your getting 2 potential top 10 players that compliment each other

If it’s not anthony edwards, curry, jokic, giannis, wemby, shai, brunson, luka ( half of those guys have 0 chance of requesting a trade btw ) then there’s no point

I’d be open to it simply because I think he’d be a good fit with Tatum and the overall offense, but he wouldn’t be my first choice and I (obviously) wouldn’t pay as much for him as I would for Jokic/Giannis.

Booker is due 61, 64, and a player option for 69 million over the three years we would control him in this situation.

The whole point of trading Brown for George was long term flexibility. George is a fat expiring next year.

The intent, to me, would be to trade George for multiple pieces that would help build out the roster, not trade him for a guy with a maxed out contract, killing the flexibility you just wanted to obtain in the first place.

People not realizing how much better Booker would fit with Tatum than Brown did is hilarious. Im seeing people actually just look at height, wingspan, and ppg to assess basketball fit.

Booker is derrick white levels of cerebral with jaylens bucket getting ability, yet with a much better shot. Jaylens issue is that he needed to put his head down for so long and either get to the cup, that it took away time from JT having the ball in his hands.

This fit would be PB&J.

Booker and Tatum has no potential to be any better than Jaylen and Tatum. Booker doesn’t make sense.

Let’s see how this year plays out before we determine roster needs. I think we are pretty set up for success right now, and while PG is a scoring downgrade from Jaylen, the roles might actually be better defined now. We have arguably the deepest roster in the whole league, so while it’s not clearly the best overall roster, I think we’ll be right in the mix.

No, Book is a solid player but he peaked a few seasons back and I don’t think adding another ball dominant scorer is what this team needs.

I think the jokic thing is a pipe dream and unlikely to happen, but I’d sooner take a chance on that than go for Book.

Yall need to look at contracts before being this delusional.  PG has a player option next year.  He will very likely opt in because he is not getting anything close to 57m in free agency.

Even if Jokic declines his player option to enter ufa, and PG declines his player option, the Celtics will have about 11m in room where Jokic’s max is about 60m.  They would need to drop 49m in salary which means White and another medium contract plus a small contract or two.  Or if they keep White, dumping all of their medium and some small contracts like Robinson, Queta, Hauser, Pritchard plus one or two of their small contracts.

The Celtics don’t really have the ability to clear max space easily, even if PG’s contract disappeared.
