I think he’s going to be in his lowest usage role yet which should help. He just needs to hit his open catch and shoot 3s and play solid team defense - anything else is a bonus.

In terms of optionality though it opens the door for bench guys to get a lot of minutes while PG is rehabbing his way back to the court.
If it makes anyone feel better about that, it will likely be the same bench guys who played significantly more last year than they normally would on a team that was winning at a 54 win pace before Tatum came back.
I can’t wait for the young guys to get some run and develop.
Then I can’t wait for Joey Ballz to sit them in the playoffs, oh, until they’re 1 game from elimination.

I like George and he can be useful but let’s not overstate what we’re getting. He’s above average in a lot of pieces of his game, should be a nice complimentary piece. But health and consistency (related imo) are not givens

It’s the truth. Paul George is a Brad type of player, Jaylen isn’t, and Paul destroys Jaylen analytically. Brad is the most analytics pilled GM there is.

After watching AJ Brown go down in week one, it’s been a whirlwind of trauma flashbacks of things like Gordon Hayward, Rick Nash, Lucas Giolito other folks brought into Boston and immediately getting hurt. It’s hard not to feel those fears.

He doesn’t have to be Jaylen Brown for us to be as good or better than last year. He just has to play his role - command some attention and generate turnovers.
I know he doesn’t have to be Jaylen Brown for us to be good, but I know for a lot of fans that’s going to be their expectation because of the trade. And with Tatum being the sole #1 scoring option as opposed to a 1A/1B situation like past years, George will likely be the #2 option above White and Pritchard, so it won’t just be commanding attention and playing good defense.
I think #2 will be Pritchard and it’s not close. Pritchard when he was the #1 option last year scored like crazy, and this year having either Tatum or PG to soak pressure for him will unlock him even more. I expect his status as the best contract in the league will explode this year.
3? Three 3 pointers? At practice? With a beat added to the clip? I smell an upcoming 3 peat! Joking aside. I think this wise old man is going to be able to highlight some of Tatum’s strengths as soon as they’re on the court together. I’m excited to see how this works out. Im going to miss JB dearly. We’re not trying to win a championship this year, this year is a reset, we stay under the apron and get full flexibility back. Then try to turn PG’s expiring into something. We weren’t gonna compete this year no matter what, we were a competitive first/second round exit. Only this way we don’t end up hitting the easily foreseeable iceberg that is JB’s next extension

Paul played good on the playoff. He can handle 28 minutes for 55 games. He will have a few duds but he will light up some games. JT and him seem to be a good fit too. To say we can’t make the ECF is crazy. We can !

You guys act like a few of his injuries weren’t just freak accidents or caused by other players. It’s not like he has some reoccurring injury or his body is just failing him. He’s always in great shape and wants to play so just let’s hope Lou Dort doesn’t tackle him.
I think he’ll be really solid for you guys and will fit in well. He was great for us on the sixers and honestly had the biggest impact out of the three major stars we went through (him, Jimmy, Harden) at least in the playoffs
