Be able to stabilize a lineup when Tatum is on the bench
Doesn’t necessarily mean he needs to be featured. He needs to be accounted for by the other team that opens the floor for his teammates
Expecting him to step into the Jaylen role isn’t realistic. He will have his moments and big games though
He should be able to step into and Actually fulfill Jaylens off ball role and defensive roles. He will struggle in his on ball role though we have guys to pick up that slack.
George is an elite off ball player with on ball abilities, kind of like White in some ways in that his super power is off ball
I want to see him stay healthy. They need him to play at least at a 50th percentile role player.
Health is #1
I want to see fans support the team and not boo and bitch because we had to trade an albatross contract.
Efficiency, defense, availability. PG13 has been a positive on-off player for ALL of his 16 seasons in the nba. He needs to continue to play in the flow like he has for his whole career and the Celtics will win a shit ton of basketball games

I don’t think the sample size is big and ofc that 3 pt% is unsustainable, but look at these offensive and defensive ratings - and now imagine subbing PG in for hauser who as much as I love is incredibly streaky. We’re going to have some lineups that utterly dominate
The reality is that George isn’t just replacing one of the most impactful two-way players in the NBA in Jaylen Brown
Jaylen isn’t even a good defender anymore, and he was never elite at it. I don’t know why this narrative persists (probably because Jaylen just talks about how good of a defender he is constantly). Paul is massively better at defense than Jaylen.

I seriously expect him to be a solid starter that helps facilitate the ball movement on the offense. I don’t expect Superstar numbers, but if they load manage him like KP or Hordord in the past I can see him averaging 16 pts , 4 rebounds and 4 assists and be healthy-ish by playoff time.
I feel the same way. I’m predicting 15.8⁄4.5⁄3.6 with 1.3 steals
If PG averages that, White has a better 3pt shooting year and Pritchard improves, the Celtics can make the playoffs without having to be in the play-in.
Losing the talent of Brown is a big loss but there is still a good roster that can make noise in the east. That’s as long as Mazzulla 3 ball is reduced to smarter open looks and less attempts for the sake of it.

Tell me about it. I’d rather watch ownership sign JB to another ridiculous contract so we can watch him dribble the ball off his foot and iso every play while continuing to average a 1:1 assist to turnover ratio in his career.
… and dump 70% of all salary into 2 players so the remaining team can be 10 scrubs and a couple of two ways.

One of those players think they’re the best two-way player in the league, and thinks beating up on tanking teams, just to get reverse swept by a team that would go on to get swept the next round, while being 6th in MVP voting during a year where 3 of the usual MVP frontrunners were out all season, is some accolade to boast about.

When other Boston teams made awful trades like this Brown trade, they were smart enough to water down the return so that no one player would be the face of the trade. Brad made Paul George the face of the trade and I have no problems seeing him as the bad guy. Add in his rep as a guy that never plays and has been a terrible layer to trade for and he gets not an ounce of respect from me as a fan this year.

I want to see him traded to Philly for Jaylen Brown. We’ll instantly get better, and significantly younger. It’s both a short and long term improvement.
Nothing, I have no expectations for a walking meme. He hasn’t been great since 7 years ago and ik he turned back the clock against us last season and disappeared in the Knicks series.
Only reason he was able to turn back the clock cause he had a lengthy rest cause of his suspension
