I think it’s pretty apparent you need good vets for your young guys to develop to their potential. They should obviously listen to any offers but just because you’re on Flagg’s timeline doesn’t mean Kyrie can’t be a part of this team moving forward.

If a team can’t come up with that without hurting the roster, it’s not happening. San Antonio doesn’t need another guard, Knicks can’t play Brunson and Kyrie together, OKC doesn’t get better by moving Holmgren or JDub, Denver doesn’t get better moving Jamal Murray (but they do save money), Cleveland doesn’t have the salaries unless it’s Harden + Merrill, Boston doesn’t want Kyrie back, Minnesota doesn’t have the money after they went after LaMelo, the Lakers don’t have the contracts unless it’s a swap for Reaves, the Pistons don’t have the contracts unless it’s a S&T for Duren, Atlanta will have a hard time coming up with salaries unless it’s McCollum + Dort or McCollum + 2 players

Houston could make sense if it’s FVV and Eason. Toronto could make sense if it’s Quickley and another player. Orlando could make sense if it’s Suggs and 1 other player. These are the 3 most realistic options, but if a team is really desperate at the deadline I’m sure they could find a way to make it work in Los Angeles or Miami, Denver would do it for Murray to duck the 2nd apron, or Kyrie will not be playing for a contender.

Miami would be an ideal fit, but I have no clue what they have that would entice Dallas to entertain a deal. Sure he’s 34 going into 35 while coming off an acl tear….but his value with two other stars on the court is worth enough to try and extract whatever you can from a trade.

It is hilarious that the Mavs showed zero interest of trading Kyrie, Kyrie showed zero public interest of requesting a trade, he literally just hosted a minicamp for the team and yet the media insists in being obsessed about the Mavs trading him. It is the bizarre version of the consent meme. Mavs and Kyrie are saying “We’re happy” and a third party screams “WE NEED HIM ELSEWHERE. COWARDS!”

Mavs only have two passers in the roster: Kyrie and a rookie de Larrea. The best PGs available are Russ and Gabe Vincent. I still wait for someone to have a realistic reasoning on trading someone needed, that the locker room likes, that wants to stay, whose contract is not a long term wrench, that apparently is not worth a lot because “old guard that is coming back from an ACL”. A reasoning other than “well, I want him on team X and who the fuck cares about the Mavs”.

The big problem here is that teams are “monitoring” if they can get Kyrie for super cheap.

Dallas has absolutely no reason to give up Kyrie for next to nothing, he is still a good player and has been a great mentor for all of the young guys. Ballhandling is also by far the biggest need for the Mavs, even with Kyrie here.

Teams (and fans on various subs) expect to get Kyrie for cheap because he is coming off an injury, but Dallas won’t do that.

Mavs need to fire Nico. Again. The situation really is tricky for the team. Prior to the trade they have been building towards the ring for half a decade, and not towards the rebuild.

And now they need to flip a switch quite suddenly. I don’t understand how trading Kyrie will help with that flip. They trade for role players, Cooper’s not ready yet to take an advantage of them and take Mavs to deep playoffs.

Last week Kyrie says something critical about Israel, this week hes on the trade block. Dallas are owned by an Israeli American family, this is no surprise to anyone.

Happy to be enlightened about the feasibility, but this is picking up around Duren’s unhappiness timeline. Cooper- Duren could be intriguing and they could send Detroit a center they dont need back. Obviously Pistons would need to add things, but both teams are in suboptimal leverage situations.

Teams can monitor all they want but unless the Mavs get a starting PG for the future or an unbelievable package of assets they have no reason whatsoever  to trade him. The Mavs have no other proven PGs on the team, few guards in general, are full of play finishers who need a PG and no draft pick this year to tank for, or the next three years after that.

I like Kyrie in Dallas but the league becomes more exciting if he joins one of these contenders. Like the idea of him on the Pistons has always intrigued me.

It makes sense basketball wise, but also, he recently came out in very light support of Palestine, and Miriam Adelson is the owner. Miriam Adelson, notably has spent upwards of $10 BILLION dollars on lobbying in Congress for Israel, and supporting political campaigns of candidates approved by Israel.

When people wonder how/why Israel has such a vice-hold on US Politics, Miriam Adelson is a big part of that.
