Under normal circumstances I would agree. I do think when you’re in an empty arena, it’s actually a lot harder to block out a distraction like that.
Like in a library where it’s very quiet, noise is very distracting, but if I’m in like a common area where I expect people to be, it’s easier to just ignore it as white noise.

When fighters are sparring they want to work on certain parts of their games. He wanted to work on his game and if he is constantly double teamed which encourages him to pass out I could see why he didn’t want to play.

there is no real game situation for him there. in a real game, every team has a specific plan for double teams that is generally a 2-4 person play. in an open run all he’s doing is just passing it so he doesn’t ever get to do anything but pass from the top.

The bubble was in 2020, I think some teams were able to have limited attendance in the 2020-21 season then the capacity of arenas slowly came back to normal throughout the season. The Raptors had it harder because the Canadian government was worried about people coming and leaving from the USA so they played that season in Tampa.
This Booker thing happened the season after, the Raptors were back to their usual arena but that game was played in an empty arena because of a resurgence in covid cases in Canada at that time.
2016 was the last year that felt like a year, to me. Everything else has just been some whacky future sci-fi number. What the fuck is a 2027? Robocop time?

I don’t think the NBA has a specific rule for fans, but they could always hand out a technical foul. Mascot obviously loses his job so not worth it, but this is an easy 2 shot technical and the team gets the ball back with whatever rule they want to justify it with, so it would just hurt the home team. Free throws have been shot when time is expired, I believe Jimmy Butler did this against the Bucks in the bubble.
