Before streaming and internet made it easier to listen to other teams’ broadcasters, I spent countless hours listening to Kruk and Kuip playing MVP. This hurts all of baseball. Hoping for the best.

Kruk retiring, and now Kuip battling cancer. I know we’re rivals, and all, but this absolutely sucks for Giants fans, and all of baseball. Kruk & Kuip are national treasures.
These guys have had nothing but good things said about them and I’m sure they are personally all true but their broadcasting has left a lot to be desired for a LONG time.

I’d like to hear your specific criticisms because while I’ll admit they’ve lost a step they still dial up heaters way more often the average MLB booth.
They put me to sleep. I don’t watch every day, but when I do and they are on I always eventually have to turn to the other broadcast. I have seen the Giants walk off teams and them sound like they couldn’t be bothered. I feel like people see them with rose colored glasses because of what the used to be.
It was like that with Vin towards the end too, unfortunately. Sadly all good things must come to an end. But I think we should allow Giants fans to cherish what little time they have left with the duo, especially with how awful this season has been, yes?

Kuip was sweet enough to take a selfie with me at Spring Training. I was able to tell him what a treasure he is. He really is one. Kruk too.
I’ve heard people say that while a team can be unwatchable a good broadcast team at least makes it so they aren’t unlistenable. Having all of this happen both on and off the diamond is so unfortunate I wouldn’t wish this on any team. My heart goes out to you, Giants fans.
