I’d say it’s just as much about health as desire. If he misses a considerable number of games in the next 3 years it becomes so much harder to imagine it happening in an age 40 season.
Never thought Pujols was gonna get to 700 HR. I think Freddy can do it if he really wants it.

He’s far from well on his way to 3000. It’s could be tough for him to get there. He just turned 37 and needs to maintain a near 150 hit per year pace for the next 3 seasons.
I’m not saying I don’t think he’ll get there but it’s definitely not a sure thing at his age. Honestly I hope I’m wrong and he breezes through it.
