I kind of want to use it but I’d have no currency to make my character 😂. Probably going to sell it and then look for a lower adorned but I am not sure if there are breakpoints like POE1 or if a certain percentage is good enough?
50% rare should be more than enough
Don’t sell it. Make a flameblast gemling and then use it to farm currency to run a built that needs that jewel.

It’s really easy just expensive. Starts with a 50⁄50 then you can’t fail, just might have to repeat some steps. I’ve never done it with fractured jewels but I always make at least one before prices skyrocket

A previous commenter indicated they were better than notables. I did not know that to be true.
Yeah the long and short of it is that per point spent to get to and allocate the jewel, give more bang for your buck when you have better jewels. It’s why at the very end game you’ll see most builds end up with like 11 jewels lol.

That notable that gives 30% increased crit chance with a slight downside, and is 15 nodes away?
You can get a jewel with that much crit, AND gives crit dmg, AND gives extra energy shield/armor. And it’s only 7 nodes away.
Iirc the best spell crit damage node gives something like 50%. A jewel with nothing special done to it can give up to 40%. That type of notable takes like 8 passives (and obviously more if you aren’t already pathing next to it). A jewel is probably going to cost like 3-5 passives at most. And then once you factor in stuff like liquid emotions (up to 1.6x), quality (1.2x), and in giga endgame a rare adorned (up to 1.75x) or a voices that can let you put multiple jewels in a single socket, and finally the fact that you can still get 2 other mods and an implicit on the jewels and you can start to see why they’re so meta
Obviously a perfect jewel is absurdly expensive and the adorned and voices are functionally non existent but by spending a handful of divs and like 10-15 minutes crafting you can get a jewel on par with a notable and which still takes 1⁄2 as many passives to get and gives some random other benefits

Voices doesn’t work with adorned, that’s why they’re called sinister sockets
Imagine if a single jewel gave you 50% more damage and ~50% more max hit. That is literally what it does. It’s absurdly stupid. To call it overpowered understates it’s absurdity. It’s so powerful that as it exists now it was removed in POE1. In POE1 we also lack the rare line. It is arguably the most broken item in either game, by a LOT.
Level to like 97+ and get a bunch of 150d jewels. You will be so ridiculously powerful. Now multiply that by 1.75
Jewels are good (give way more stats than notables). So giving a 2.5x multiplier to magic jewels or a 1.75x multiplier is more good (gives even more stats)
This patch you cant craft perfect 5 mod jewels for 150 divs or less
For example an op sapphire can be
30% crit
34% spell crit
15 spell dmg
24 spell crit hit chance
And multiply this shit by 1.5 from adorned its just ridiculous
And you can also corrupt till you get sixth mod but thats pretty expensive

Because it costs more than that. Even just craniums alone are really expensive let alone lights, chaos, whittles etc. One person might get lucky and craft one cheaper but it is far less likely to do that 10x in a row and prices reflect that the average cost to make these is higher.
While it might not be correct to say you can’t possibly with high luck make them for less it is correct to say you cannot expect to do so with any level of reliability
So… regular jewels have the power of maybe 3-4 notables together, and you can personalize your jewel, and you use what… 7 points on attributes to get to a jewel socket? Thats already better than the normal constelations we would normally use the passive points for.
Now… the adorned makes all of your jewels 50% better or more… thats it.
Jewels are op. They were already op before GGG introduced jewel crafting options with 5 mod bug. Now they are just absurdly strong. Instead of 6-7 passive points you just put good jewel.
Now imagine multiplying all of that.
Btw: I belive good jewel should be worth 3 passive points, jewels as chase items should offer better alternative to normal skill tree but not by this margin.
Can anyone tell me what this would be worth? Roughly? I haven’t played much in 0.5.5 so my initial guess is 8 mirrors but not sure.
the wording on this always gets me… is jewel socket passive skill just referring to any jewel? or jewels that have a skill tied to them? and if its any jewel why would i want to load up on jewels with only 2 mods rather than 4 or 5?
it’s just the jewel socket, the game recognizes them as a passive skill point hence the weird naming. the magic jewels affix is not as great given the high roll on rare jewels affix, but you coulsld just run 10 magic jewels with 2 offensive prefixes and the adorned would turn that into 10 magic jewels with 24 offensive prefixes
So it’s an extreme endgame min/max item… Gotcha
sry for being stupid , but why would you want both magic and rare jewels increased effect ? how are you going to stack both ?
it’s not that useful as they act sorta antagonistically, but it’s still a very cool and rare thing to roll
edit: actually, no. you may just be interested in increased effect of prefixes and then the magic jewels affix comes in handy to just maximize that
