I think it was done for vibe purposes for the team. He did not have any super long innings and not a crazy amount of up downs. Plus the next start he makes they can pull him super early most likely.

I don’t think 14 extra pitches is actually as bad as most people think. I would be way more concerned about an extra up down.
I was a bit surprised too. Feels like an extended look might help the Yanks if they face him in the ALDS, although considering how much he’s shoved against them it’s hardly a slam dunk it helped.
