All these WPBL/Sato posts tonight are making me cry happy tears.
I grew up as a girl who never got the chance to play baseball. I am now too old (44) and broken to play in this league but seeing the women who got the chances I never did do incredible things and make history is so special.
So beyond grateful to be here for this and to see this subreddit embrace this league and the amazing women making history.
I’m in my mid-30s and I feel the same way. I stopped when I got to high school since there weren’t opportunities beyond college and just didn’t have the heart anymore. If this existed back then, I know I wouldn’t have the life I do now, for better or for worst. I hope the younger women today continue seizing the opportunities that are being given to them.
